Metal-oxide superlattices as new materials for spintronic applications.
The work concerns hybrid multilayers composed of alternating monolayers of a ferromagnetic transition metal and a metal-oxide of the NaCl structures. The project is aimed at optimization of the structural properties by selecting the proper preparation method and superlattice architecture, followed by determination of magnetic properties (in particular magnetic anisotropies). A broad range of experimental techniques will be used, especially of those involving synchrotron radiation.
